This Thanksgiving I'm planning on making a homemade carrot cake with carrots from our garden.
I found a recipe off Allrecipes that calls for all-purpose flour.
I was wondering if anyone has a good recipe that uses actual cake flour.

@timeless. Cake flour is not usually used for this type of cake but is normally used in something like a fine-textured white cake. It possibly would make a carrot cake too crumbly.

Cake flour produces a cake that's too light for this cake. Carrot cake is dense and needs a heavier flour, IMO.

Cake flour is too light for carrot cake.
I use all purpose unbleached flour, preferably King Arthur.
'When I make carrot cake I found Ina Garten has the best recipe, It's almost as good as mom's recipe from 60 years ago, Sadly, I lost her recipe.
You can find Ina Garten's (The Barefoot Contessa) recipe on The Food Network.
I've used her recipe for over 20 years, it's always a big hit.
