Re: Care To Share A Recipe Or Packaged Soy Free Hot Chocolate Mix?

There is a recipe for hot cocoa on the package of Hershey's Cocoa.  I tried to copy and paste the recipe but could not get it to work.

If you do a search for the recipe it is easy to find.  Sorry I cannot get it to post.

I have tried 2 different recipies:

Option 1-

*2 cups dairy free milk of choice (I found 1 part almond milk 1 part coconut milk to make a nice consistency).

*6 Tbsp Dutch cocoa OR 4-5Tbsp regular cocoa powder

*pinch sea salt

*1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Add all ingredients (except vanilla) and whisk until warm. Add vanilla and whisk until combined.

Option 2- (this is for a mix), it's "free" of everything but sugar Smiley Wink

*1 cup sugar

*1/2 cup cocoa powder

* vanilla bean (cut in 1/2 and scrape seeds)

Put all ingredients in blender or food processor to incorporate well. You just don't want lumps!

Add to jar and wait to enjoy! To serve, add 1-1.5/Tbsp powder mix per cup of milk (any dairy free milk of choice will work, it's a personal/dietary preference). Whisk until warm and combined.

**** For both of these, I served with Dandy brand vegetarian marshmallows, so delicious coco whip (dairy free cool whip).

Personally, I preferred a little peppermint extract I'm either of them, but I know not everyone likes a mint/chocolate combination. And my ultimate favorite is adding chocolate cherry Baileys!

Thank you, @mizree . I appreciate you noticing that, especially since it was the chocolate! And I just gave someone a speech today about "proofreading their work".

Keto Hot Chocolate Mix

Make this easy keto hot chocolate mix to keep on hand so you can always make a delicious mug of low carb hot chocolate.  Just add water!

Prep Time5 mins
Total Time5 mins

Servings: 18 Servings (when using 3T of mix)
Calories: 74.92kcal
Ingredients
  • 2 Cups Heavy Cream Powder
  • 1/2 Cup Granulated Swerve (or favorite 1:1 SF sweetener)
  • 1/2 Cup Confectioners Swerve
  • 1/3 Cup Organic Cocoa Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
To Make The Keto Hot Chocolate Powdered Mix
  • Combine all ingredients in a large bowl, sifting the cocoa powder. Whisk to combine.
  • Store in a quart size glass jar, such as a Mason jar.
To Make A Mug Of Keto Hot Chocolate
  • Boil 8 oz of hot water. Carefully add 3-4 Tbsp of keto hot chocolate mix powder to the water and mix to combine.
Notes
  • Dairy Free Keto Hot Chocolate Mix: Substitute coconut milk powder in place of the heavy cream powder.
  • Peppermint Keto Hot Chocolate Mix: Add 6-12 drops of high quality, food safe peppermint essential oil to the powdered mix and whisk to combine.
  • Mocha Keto Hot Chocolate Mix: Add 1/4 Cup of instant espresso powder to the powdered mix and whisk to combine. Just want to make one mug into a mocha?  I like to add 1-2 Tbsp of the keto hot chocolate mix powder to 8-10 oz of black coffee.
