My friend brought this to work recently and it is really good!
Pop two bags of microwave popcorn. ( she uses Betty Crocker Homestyle)
Sift through the popcorn in attempt to remove all kernels. I divide the popcorn into two separate large bowls.
In a saucepan combine:
5 1/3 T margarine
3/4 cup brown sugar
3 T. corn syrup
Stir continuously and boil until it looks very hot and bubbly.
ADD 1/4 tsp baking soda and 1/4 tsp vanilla. Stir well.
Add 1/2 of the mixture to each bowls of popcorn.
Stir as best you can.
Pour one bowl of popcorn onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
Do the same with the other bowl.
Bake them both at 300 degrees for 15 minutes.
Take out and stir the popcorn until more is coated.
Put back in the oven for 5 more minutes.
Remove from oven and pour popcorn onto waxed paper that has been laid out on counter.
As it cools, break apart.
Store in airtight container.
