Can't go out, raining, good day for a new recipe.

So, I wanted a macaroni salad, and put together one of Paul Deen's.  I got to wondering about the ladies who like to cook "Southern" as she puts it.  Do you ever or have you ever used her recipes?

@qualitygal Love her Sweet Potato Souffle, it's a staple at Thanksgiving. Also her squash casserole is awesome.

Raining, windy, and cool here, homemade chicken noodle soup or minestrone.

My style is kind of Italian and a bit southern, but I've never used any of her recipes.

Most of the recipes of PD's haven't appealed to me but I remember one that was kind of a 'goulash' type thing, or that's what it was called when I was growing up.  It's a macaroni, beef, some tomato, and I forgot what else, type of dish that sounded kind of good.  I used to make stuff like that, as a child, when I was cooking for all of us.   Ways to stretch food - that's how my learning of cooking started.   Being poor and being given a little bit of this and a little bit of that to make dinner for us 4 kids.   I'm great at stretching.  Smiley Happy

Not cooking anything here. It's 97° but feels like 105°. It's super hot.

We had a lot of storms coming & going but they are gone now.

It's going to get really hot & stay that way for some time.

Our lunch was Cashew Chicken Salad. It had grapes and craisens in it. Tasted good, but I'll probably stick to tuna salad the next time I want a hot weather meal.

Yes, I cook Paula Deen, love her and love her recipes. I watched her for years on the Food Network, she's a real southern lady's Lady.  Can't go wrong with Paula.

I like Paula Deen's recipes.  She cooks pretty much the same foods I grew up eating and cooking.

The only two things of hers that I make are her gooey butter cakes and her baked spaghetti.
