It looks like this recipe with 4 ingredients has been removed from the thread started by @butterfly123 last year.

I made it and liked it, but I didn't write down the recipe.  Does someone here still have it?  It was 4 ingredients...a cake mix, bananas, eggs and what?  Also need temp and time to bake.  And grease/flour the pans?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Cake Mix Banana Bread,

[ Edited ]

Is this it?

  1. Overripe bananas – 5 med. sized is good, could add 6
  2. Box of cake mix – Spice cake mix is by far the best one to use, could use white or yellow in a bind
  3. 1/3 Cup Oil
  4. 3 Eggs

Even though this would add an extra ingredient, I'd include 1 tsp vanilla for flavor.

@esmerelda

INGREDIENTS
  • 3-4 ripe bananas
  • 1 box yellow cake mix (dry mix only)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup chocolate chips or chopped nuts optional
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease and flour two 8"x4" loaf pans.

  2. Mash bananas in a large bowl.  Add in eggs and stir until well combined.

  3. Add cake mix and stir. (Just the mix, not the eggs, oil, or water that the box calls for.)

  4. Add chocolate chips or nuts if using. Pour into prepared pans.

  5. Bake 35 - 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

  6. Allow to cool in the pan 10  minutes.  Remove from pan and cool completely on a wire rack.

@Zhills Thanks but it looks like too many bananas and I don’t remember oil. But I appreciate the spice cake mix suggestion and will try that. I used banana cake mix when I made it before.  It was good!

Don't mean to bump but wanted to share I used coconut cake mix.  Delish!  I'd used banana cake mix before, but this was better. Had no nuts so added chocolate chips. I'll be doing this again. 👍

I plan to use spice cake mix next, as that has been mentioned here. In fact spice was my plan for this time...then I saw the coconut mix. 🙂

Re: Cake Mix Banana Bread,

That's one I should try. Just bought $.85 cake mix from Aldi.
