I know you will really like it. You can use any milk you have, non-fat, whole milk etc.

@Flatbush Thank you!!

@Flatbush  What You Said.  I also find Instant pudding to be rather grainy no matter how much I beat it vs the consistantly smooth texture of the cooked kind.

Re: CHOCOLATE PUDDING so good from scratch and easy...

@Flatbush  I am glad that I was able to make you smile.  Believe it or not, I remember when you first asked about the chocolate pudding mix.  Like you, I prefer the cooked version of chocolate pudding, so I was very interested in all the replies.  Once deepwaterdotter shared that recipe, I figured that I hit the jackpot. At 64 I am a fairly decent cook, but still have my challenges with tempering eggs.  Smiley Happy

As for finding that original post, I just typed 'chocolate pudding' in the "search forums & blogs" box.  Several suggestions showed up, but I knew which post it was right away.  The bigger problem for me was to learn how to post that link in my reply to you.  It took a little bit, but I persevered and actually did it.  Yay me!  LOL.

P.S. I consider myself a dinosaur because I don't like to learn new things. (No social media for me.)  And you can probably see that I am more of a lurker than a contributor, but I honestly appreciate reading everyone else's efforts in sharing what they have or know about.

I will go back to lurking now.  I wish everyone blessings and a happy holiday season!  Heart

@RespectLife

Old Fashion Chocolate Pudding

3 T cornstarch

1//3 c sugar

1/4 c unsweetened cocoa

2 c milk

1 t vanilla

1/8 t salt

In deep (at least a 1 quart casserole dish ) combine cornstarch, sugar and  cocoa.

Stir in vanilla and salt.

Microwave uncovered on high for three minutes; stir. Microwave on high 2-6 minutes, until thickened, stirring after each minute to keep smooth.

Pour into serving dishes or bowl.
