This is an easy and tasty dish that I hope you enjoy. I gave the recipe to my sister and she makes up the BQ sauce and cans it in pint jars and sells it with the meatball recipe attatched.
CHARLOTTE'S BARBECUED MEATBALLS
INGREDIENTS FOR MEATBALLS:
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 can (5 ounce) evaporated milk (2/3 cup)
1 cup quick-cooking oats
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
INGREDIENTS FOR SAUCE:
1 cup ketchup
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
DIRECTIONS:
1. In a bowl, combine the first eight ingredients. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into 1-inch balls; place in a greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes or until meat is no longer pink.
2. Meanwhile, combine the sauce ingredients in a sacuepan. Bring to a poil. Reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes, stirring frequently. Pour over meat balls. Bake 10 to 12 minutes longer.
YIELD: About 4 dozen.
