@Nightowlz  Your bread looks delicious.  How do you manage to cut the slices so evenly?

DH likes to make bread, rolls, hamburger etc.

Yesterday he made dough in the bread machine. He used the Pullman loaf pan with lid to bake it in. It's so soft.

Buttermilk Bread

1 1/8 cup buttermilk

3 cups bread flour

1 1/2 tsp salt

1 Tbls butter

3 Tbls honey

1/4 tsp baking soda

1 1/2 tsp yeast

Bake at 350° for 30 mins.

DH cuts it with an electric knife. He won't let me touch it since it would be all crooked or thin & thick slices.

He can paint around trim without taping it off or getting paint all over the place.

@Nightowlz Haha, I can do that, but I can't cut bread straight without a guide and even those depend on keeping the knife at the exact same angle.

@ciao_bella there are cutting guides with varying widths available.  The one I have is wooden, folds up to store, and came with a knife.

@4kitties

DH has made an English Toasting bread recipe from the bread cookbook we use a lot. Makes really good toast. We also use Kerrygold butter.

He makes French bread he adds 1 cup sourdough starter to. It also makes good toast & really yummy French toast.

DH bought one of those wooden slicing guides but threw it in the trash. He had to try to hold onto it while slicing.

I know he has his finger on top of the bread as a guide & uses an electric knife. I would be afraid I would cut my finger off it I tried that.

Re: Buttermilk Bread DH Made

@Nightowlz   Thanks for the lovely Buttermik Bread recipe.  Have never used buttermilk in my cooking over the years, but I will bake this bread.

Re: Buttermilk Bread DH Made

this looks so good!  My people are happy with Rhodes frozen bread dough, that i bake up. They each get a loaf, to take home.

I had a bread machine, that bounced off the counter, when i tried to make bagels. Hubs wouldn't let me replace. ha-ha.

i usually use land o' lakes butter, now, i'm intrigued by the kerry gold comments. it's on my list!
