Last night I stupidly attempted to pick up with my bare hand a pan that had just come out of a 400º oven.  My skin sizzled, and my thumb turned a dark purple like raw beef.

We keep Water Jel burn jel in the kitchen, so I quickly applied it to my sore hand and went on with dinner.  This is really good stuff, Folks.  I'm not exaggerating there is no pain, or even tenderness, today.

I highly recommend a bottle of this product in every kitchen, especially if you have young children in the house.

Ouch sorry you burned your hand. Thx for the Water Burn Jel info. I have never heard of it. I used to use lavendar oil. Now I use isomers Copper P. It takes out that burning stinging pain & left no scar when I used it.

Yikes, that must have hurt @IamMrsG & thank you for the product recommendation.  I just put it on the shopping list.

Glad you are ok.  Where do you find that product?

Re: Burn Care in the kitchen

Thank you, All, for your concern.  I am fine, fully functioning.

@walker I first learned about it when DH brought samples home from work.   I do not remember where we bought our bottle, but the website says it's available at Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, RiteAid, etc.

After one Christmas Eve dinner, while I was rushing to clean up afterwards, I picked up a burner rack that was left burning on low.   As you can imagine, the skin on my hand was singed badly.  Again, this jel saved the day.  No kidding, I cannot imagine being without it.

Re: Burn Care in the kitchen

Burns happen so easily, even if you touch a hot item for a split second.

I ususally have to keep an ice pack on a burn the rest of the evening.  Since you went to dinner, I assume you didn't have to take an ice pack with you!  Sounds like a helpful product.  I'll pick some up.  Thanks.

That is good to know.  I also keep ice packs made up for one thing or another but this will help when I don't want to sit down and nurse an ice pack.  Thanks again.

I use tea tree oil and burns never blister or are sore if used immediately!!  I couldn't get through holiday baking without it.

I've never heard of it either.  It would be handy to have on hand for sure.   I use honey, but it's pretty sticky.  I forget where I heard that, but so far it seems to help.

Glad you're ok.

I've never heard of it either, but sounds like it works great.  I have a huge bottle of aloe vera gel with a pump applicator in my kitchen cabinet.  I have to grab and use it every once in a while.  In fact I just used it a couple nights ago.  That stuff is remarkable too.  I didn't have a mark on my hand the next day after burning myself.
