I am baking Pound cake today in mini bundt pans, 4 mini cakes on the pan.

I baked less time than when baking an entire cake and filled them nicely, no problem with over filling or over baking, but a couple of the cakes have a tear in them...not broken clear thru but I don't like that they tore..

I can't figure out what I did wrong...any advice?

@Mom2Dogs That happens to me occasionally... reading it says the oven is  to hot and the outside of the cake is cooking faster than the inside.  The oven may have been a tad to high for the smaller pan. It also could be humidity, heat or weather can change baking issues.  My large glass pans can cause this. Lately with my cakes I have been adding one extra egg, using milk instead of water, adding a tespoon of vanilla and everything has been perfect.

Thanks for your reply...I did turn the temp by 25 degrees and even tho I greased really well, I don't think it was good enough...the 2nd batch did not break but still had trouble getting the cake out of the pans....

They look so cute but not quite as pretty as I wanted them to look....I wanted bakery pretty, lol.

The next time you make them, try turning them out of the pans about 10 minutes after you take them out of the oven. I recently started doing this with a pound cake recipe that stuck a little, despite the fact that I greased the pan liberally. It came right out using the new method. If all else fails, powdered sugar or a glaze will hide a myriad of sins.
