I am making pumpkin bread for a bake sale tomorrow in disposable foil pans.
When I put them in the oven, do I put these pans directly on the oven rack, or should I put the pans on a cookie sheet and then on the rack?
TIA for your assistance.

Unless they were the mini-loaf pans, I always put them right in on the rack.

I am no great baker but when I have used the foil pans, I put them directly on the oven racks.....be careful when lifting, after you fill with the batter the pans are not heavy and may, twist a bit...you would not want to spill the contents!
I am sure more people will post with their opinions/advice.

Ok, again, either way! Don't know what happened to my post. Why pumpkin bread? It's nearly spring.

My post just disappeared too..................................
Shorter version..........baking dish directly on oven rack. Cookie sheet might limit good heat circulation so bottom batter may not be done when top of loaf is.

@ahoymate Why NOT pumpkin bread? Breads of all kinds aren't restricted to specific seasons -- at least not in MY world!
I like pumpkin bread year round. And banana bread. And zucchini bread.

I'm not a fan of anything that reminds me of FALL! Hate fall & fall foods; pumpkin, squash, turkey, dressing, etc.
Plus, it's always nice to eat with the seasons. Spring being my fav

@ahoymate OK, fair enough! I don't eat with the seasons personally.
And I actually love fall! But I understand your POV!

I always put foil and silicone pans on a cookie sheet. They are flimsy and can collapse, ruining the contents and possibly burning the person holding them. This can also create a huge mess.

Omgosh! I can't even imagine! I love EVERYTHING about the fall and it's just as silly to suggest you shouldn't eat pumpkins in February as it is to say you shouldn't wear white in wintertime. Life is short, we should do what makes our hearts (and tummies) happy!
