We are southerners, and I can't stand the texture of any dried bean.  DH loves them.  I discovered Margaret Holmes black eyed peas about 10 years ago.  They are the best on the market.

I'm southern and love black-eye peas. I thought I would not use can ones as well but I do now and they are good and a quick side dish. I always have stewed tomatoes with my black-eye peas.  Some evenings for a quick dinner I fix grilled ham and cheese sandwich with a bowl of black-eye peas and tomatoes (southern tradition...LOL)

Have you  ever added a can of stewed tomatoes to a can of  Margaret Holmes Triple Succotash?   We really like that combination.

Never thought of adding stewed tomatoes to black eyes.  Another adventure to come.

@novamc1 yes, I add stewed tomatoes to triple succotash, love that dish especially in the summer with fresh garden tomatoes, corn and lima beans.  That is another quick dinner I fix and eat with BLT sandwiches.

I, too, am a big bean, black eyed pea lover but after my intestional surgery they are a NO NO!

I discovered a brand called EDEN beans!  A miracle.  

Organic beans soaked overnight and cooked with the seaweed that removes the gas causing enzymes.

Yes, they are a bit more expensive than cooking dry beans and peas but worth it to me.  I cook for 1 and a can will fix 3 meals for me.  Fix it all, freeze 2 meals.

The night I had fried ham, blackeyed peas and rice, I was in heaven!  I had forgotten just how good they are!
