HEE @sidsmom thanks so much for posting that Twitter thread, I laughed through the whole thing and need to look into some of those recipes especially that crab dip.  I did notice there is someone in CHI that I need to have a word with in person about bay leafs.  This thread reminds me of one that erupted over the Christmas holidays about cast iron pans . . . good times!

I have a recipe for chicken noodle soup that includes bay leaf and chopped onions. DH asked me to make the soup for his brother but to omit the bay leaf and onions. Tasted the soup afterwords and it was not the same. Southern Bee

They sure vary in taste. I've had bay leaves that almost taste like medicine when included in a soup. I recently purchased some organic & the flavor was way more mellow. When I add 1 bay leaf to a homemade soup, I want it to compliment the other ingredients, not take over the entire pot!  Smiley Happy
