The lady who gave me this recipe called it a Batman Cake.  It was a favorite in our office.  I haven't found one like it on the internet.  It is sweet and tasty.  Perfect for the big game!

BATMAN CAKE

1 lb. box brown sugar
2 sticks butter

Melt together; cool slightly.

Then add:

1/2 cup white sugar
4 eggs, one at a time
2 c. self-rising flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts

Pour batter in pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes.

Test doneness with knife. Let cool.

Cut in squares. Dust with XXXX powdered sugar.

A delicious snack!

I just noticed that it doesn't give a pan size.  I would guess, 9X13 if you want a thicker cake or  jelly roll size for a thinner cake.

Please correct me if you know differently.

Sounds so good, I printed it out for future use.

I did try to find the definition of "batman cake" and none so far.  Maybe after eating all that brown and white sugar it makes you nocturnal like a bat.  Worth staying up for I am sure.

I've googled everything I can think of, "brown sugar cake, sheet cake, brown sugar+nuts, and I can't fing anything like it.

I wonder if it was a mistake and was so good someone wrote it down.  It is sweet, but not gaggingly sweet and has a great flavor.  I think the 1/2 Cup white sugar is to make the batter smoother.  Not sure brown sugar would do that.

The powdered sugar is really for show, but it doesn't need icing!

Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, somebody made it, used a Batman cake pan & the name stayed. It was actually the pan & nothing to do with the cake itself.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.........
