Forgot to mention that I also add a dash of Montreal Steak Seasoning to our burgers as well. ![]()

My husband loves Swiss cheese, bacon and sauted mushrooms on his burgers.
I like them black and blue with carmelized onions and blue cheese crumbles.
They're great with BBQ sauce and bacon. Make it a Aloha burgers by adding Swiss cheese and grilled pinapple to the BBQ sauce and bacon burger.
Yumm.

@eddyandme, hi!
Make a patty melt instead. They're deeelicious!
Chopped onion, browned
Hamburger meat
Swiss cheese
Toasted rye bread
Thousand island dressing
Pat the hamburger into a patty roughly the size of the bread - not a thick burger, think 'smash burger'.
Top w/ the browned onion & melted Swiss cheese, and sandwich between the toasted rye and dressing.
If you don't want to buy the dressing, just mix together mayo, ketchup & sweet relish.

@Sooner It's funny you say you'd never put ketchup and cheese on a burger. To me, that IS the traditional way to eat it! Then again, I'm a cheese freak and love so many different kinds.
As far as changing up burgers, the possibilities are endless with regards to toppings and sauces.

@rockygems123 I've never had whiskey mayo, but I'll bet it's amazing on a burger with those crispy onions. Sounds great!

All these suggestions sound wonderful to me. I love changing things up.

@Jk9 I'm big on change except when it comes to good beef! I'm after beef! NO seasonings (salt is a must), sauces, herbs, flavorings. A good piece of beef and that's what I want.
I can do all sorts of things to fish, pork, chicken, just leave my beef alone! ![]()

I had a burger tonight. I put mine on a toasted English muffin, cheese, pickles and ketchup. Love a burger like this.
My husband use to make a burger with sauerkraut and onions in it and grill. Very good.

"Sonoma Sharp White Cheddar, Avocado, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Bacon-Shallot Jam and Chimichurri Aïoli on a Buttered Brioche Bun" is the Hearthstone Burger at Disneyland's Grand Californian Hotel. I had this recently and the flavor combination is very good. Admittedly the jam and aioli aren't regular purchases for me, but it looks like Stonewall Kitchen's bacon jam, and a chimichurri sauce, are at Safeway. Many recipes online too. Whatever you try ... Bon appetit!
