Are there different sizes/kinds of Navy Beans?

I've made a few batches of Navy Bean soup recently and purchased the navy beans at Walmart. Last nite I had to buy the beans at Target.

I noticed the beans were smaller, but didn't think it would make a difference.

Now I'm having second thoughts. The beans are taking forever to soften and I think the soup tastes different. It doesn't seem to have the "flavor" I'm used to.

Any thoughts?
