Are You an ATK Recipe Tester?

I saw a general invitation to become an America's Test Kitchen recipe tester on my FB feed. I think they have 10's of thousands home cook recipe testers. They send you one or more recipes monthly. You test the recipe as written, and you provide feedback. You are not supposed to share the recipe. It sounds like fun for someone who has time and loves to cook (ME!). Have you ever done this?

I don't test for them, but I test recipes for two women's magazines.

@RollTide2008 That's great! How often do you test recipes? How did you get started with those testing programs?

I went to culinary school with one the editors.  I generally test  four to six recipes on a six week rotation.  You have to follow the recipe exactly and take good notes about what you did, where you bought ingredients, and how much they cost.

Re: Are You an ATK Recipe Tester?

No, and I would not be a good choice for testing recipes for any test kitchen.

Generally speaking I do not cook by recipes.  My family and I are very set in our food routine and eat the same things over and over; I do not try new dishes.  I have many food allergies and intolerances, and stick to eating what works for my system.

Recipes with a lot of ingredients, numerous spices, mushrooms, olives, milk, and cheese are of no interest to me.
