My neighbor brought me a 17 lb bag of apples!  Can I put some in a crockpot? I would like a healthy baked apple. Love apples. I know I can look up on line but I was hoping for a tried and true recipe. Any help greatly appreciated. ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ

@godi I don't know about the crock pot but I love apple crisp.I use very little sugar and make my topping of mostly oatmeal, lots of cinnamon and a little brown sugar and one quarter cup butter.I like to eat it for breakfast too.You could even sub maple syrup which is lower glycemic on the apples.I melt the butter in microwave before mixing into the oats so that I need less to make it spread and then let it sit for a minute and begin to mash it in with my hands to make the mixture clump a bit.

Sure you can make them in the crockpot. If you have made them before in the oven use your favorite stuffing combo. If you have not you know itโ€™s basically brown sugar, cinnamon, maybe nuts, butter, perhaps plumped raisins or plumped dried cranberries.

core, peel one strip off top of apple,  stuff. Place in crock pot and pour about 1/2 to 1 cup apple juice or cider around apples into bottom of pot. Cook on high about 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

I would be making and bottling my homemade chunky apple sauce (that can be used on anything) if I had that many apples too!

Have fun.

I put them in the crockpot..with only 1/4 cup of water.  Sometimes I throw in a handful of walnuts and craisins, sometimes just alone.  Sprinkle top with cinammon.  Youll love the smell all day long.  Its delicious.
