This is from a 1973 cookbook and the caption said "This treasure was found when the old homestead was torn down".

2 c sugar 1/8 tsp salt

1 C. butter or regular margarine 1/2 tsp vanilla

4 eggs 1 C chopped, unpared apples

1 T flour 1 C raisins

3/4 tsp ground cinnamon 1 c coarsely chopped pecans

1/4 tsp ground nutmeg 1 unbaked 10" pie shell

Cream together sugar and butter until light and fluffy Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and vanilla, beating well. Stir in apples, raisins and pecans. Pour into pie shell.

Bake in moderate oven (350) 45 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on rack. Makes 8 servings.
