I grew up on liverwurst. My grandmother and mom both were born in Germany and I grew up up eating lots of German food. My grandmother made the best strudels, roladen, sauerkraut and sausage, potato pancakes and so much more. Great memories. Liverwurst sandwiches are my downfall.  Do you like liverwurst or German food?

@simplyfriends  I DO!  And I don't have any Germanic type heritage.

I don't remember When or where I got my first taste of Liverwurst

I wish I did. It's a mystery.

It made my day when I found out it can be frozen!

I liked it also, however haven't had it since my teens and I'm 76 now. Loved it on pumpernickle bread with mustard.

Gave up eating processed meats a long time ago. But every now and then I get a craving for it.

@simplyfriends  I LOVE liverwurst on a kaiser roll with stoneground mustard and a slice of raw onion. Yum!

I like German food in general too. schnitzels, saurbraten, brats, German potato salad, spaetzle.

We love it and have some in the fridge right now! Bought it a few days ago and had it for lunch twice! But here we call it Braunschweiger!

@Queen of shop    Yes I like it with a little mustard, mayo on toast.

If you have an Aldi's this one is good!

I grew up eating it, I like it every now and then. I am part German but didn't know it was German.

My mom used to put a liverwurst sandwich and a Twinkie in my lunch bag when I stayed at school at lunch for student council meetings in elementary school.

I still love liverwurst ... and Twinkies.

Thanks for reminding me. Will put it on my grocery list.

We used to buy it often. We used it  to give our dog pills. Liverwurst was a wonderful food to bury the pills. Our dog was a rescue with quite a few health issues. So we bought lots and lots liverwurst. So we often made liverwurst sandwiches for ourselves.

We had a local German restaurant. I ate lots of German sauerkraut and spaetzle. Too bad the chef retired.

@Desert Lily   Mine too!  Liverwurst or sometimes it was a bologna sandwich and tasty cakes!
