I understsand what you are saying.

I try to go back & re-check threads I was involved in but maybe I forget some posts so it is not intentional if I don't respond.

I also like to thank the posters who take the time to look things up & post recipes - that takes time & I for one really appreciate their efforts.

If I answer a question, I neither need nor expect acknowledgement, and I suspect my take on the subject is a little different than others here. Whenever I see an OP posting individually to responders, it seems to me the OP is "bumping" their thread.  To me, it should be enough to thank responders en masse after the thread has run its course.

I agree with this but I think the issue is those posters who start a thread to specifically ask for help (say in finding a particular item) and then don't ever bother to return to say that they found what they wanted (or not).

I admit it makes me think "why bother"?  If I post on a thread like that and the poster doesn't make any attempt to let others know the result, I don't bother responding again.  (And I've seen someone who does just that; asks for help, then never returns to update and just posts more "help" threads.)  It's just wasting the time and goodwill of others on these forums.

@adoreqvc    That happened this week on a thread on the Among Friends forum.  An OP posted a thread about depression.  Many posters responded with upbeat messages and greetings.  However, the OP did not return to acknowledge the posts which to me would have been common courtesy whether or not she agreed with the replies.  It appears the OP just wanted sympathy.
