We have a special co-worker  from Peru, and my tradition is to make a cake for everyone's birthday- This year, I would like to surprise him with somehtig that he might have enjoyed back home.

Any suggestions for a "Peruvian Cake"?

Thanks  for any suggestions!t

I think that is really sweet of you to make something traditional.I am not from Peru but I goggled traditional Peruvian cakes and some family recipes popped up.I have a friend who just returned from a trip there to visit some of her friends so I could ask her about that when I see her tomorrow.

@Mothertrucker, take a look at LimaEasy.  There are quite a few cakes on that site, with tres leches cake being the most popular.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

You could always make a Machu Pinchu cake.
