So I made the recipe in the large volume of America's Test Kitchen for waffles and both of us got really sick.
How can a recipe with flour, baking soda, salt sugar mixed with oil, eggs, vanilla, sour cream, powdered buttermilk makes us sick?
Fresh baking soda, fresh eggs, fresh sour cream, just peeled the cover off the powdered buttermild....just confused.
They were quite dense even though you use selter water.

Your illness may be totally unrelated to what you ate. If I had to name a culprit, it would be the buttermilk mix.

There were several flour recalls in the past months.
Could be that?

I didn't think about the flour recall....that could be it!
Never used powdered buttermilk before either, thought it had a strange smell but it was freshly opened???

My father couldn't eat anything with baking soda in the recepie, it upset his stomach and gave him horrendous heartburn...same goes for me...go figure🌳🍎
