Weight,
The young gal I have been taking care of went in for a check up yesterday. We lifted her onto the scale, the nurse started the bottom weight at 100 as usual then moved the top.. no register. The bottom weight was moved to 50 the top weight gave a total of 97 lbs.
I felt so bad all that I have been doing for her even neglecting myself to the point of sleeping every 2 hrs during the night just to make sure she is okay. I found out she should be 130. I have Hi protein products ordered. The state is sending her specialized food and I have my secret recipes here for taste bubs.
I need to get weight back on her she is trying so hard. I did cry when I was alone because I felt I let her down when I am the only person besides doctors in her life. \
Stranger come into our lives to test us I think. I am committed to getting her back on her feet. One good thing is the have the person that did this horrific deed where he belongs.
I need to fatten her up can you help me? Remember she is still dealing with an mouth that was beaten w/ a BBBat, all teeth removed. Some days I ask myself what would make a person hurt another to such a degree?

What about a nice creamy rice pudding with cinnamon on top?

It sounds as if she needs to be in a hospital where they could tube feed her a high caloric intake diet and a dietician could plan real food also. If that were done and monitored then she wouldn't be eating empty calories that form fat and not muscle.
I am shocked that going to a doctor in that condition wouldn't throw up red flags everywhere and he/she didn't send her straight to the hospital for professional help.
This sounds horrible and sad; she needs people who know what to do and to do it fast.
I don't know the details of this account, but it sounds as if she needs professional care in a hospital.
I am shocked.

I'm sorry, I don't know the background story but I did want to offer a suggestion on what you have said on this line.
Maybe the trick would be to get her to enjoy her food more, if that's possible. Is she being treated for depression? That would be natural for someone after going through something traumatic, if I understand you correctly. I think they have pills to increase appetite, you could ask her doctor.
Good luck, and bless you for helping her.

If she can digest dairy, creme brûlée or flan made with heavy cream and fresh eggs is delicious and good for weight gain. It is possible to limit or dispense with the sugar if nutmeg and cinnamon are used. Same for tapioca pudding. These two have nourished many through bouts of poor health.
If if she loves Mexican food, enchiladas put into a blender or vitamix and made into a soup are delicious. Then there are the butternut squash, asparagus, and other soups made with cream. Mashed and creamed avocado is so so nutritious and very delicious. Mix it with a little Worcestershire sauce for an old fashioned Trader Vic's recipe.

Thank you for all your help for this woman. That's so sad. I hope the person who brutilized her gets his.

The only suggestion I might offer in regard to food, is possibly to add some more carbs to all suggestions previously mentioned. You could add some raw oats to a flavored yogurt, to soften the oats for her mouth issues.
Just as important, please don't beat yourself up over this. You sound like a wonderful, loving, caring person, who anyone would be lucky to have in their life. Now that you know better, you can do better! Bless you for showing kindness and love to this young girl.

What a horribly sad situation and you are a very brave and kind person to want to help. But I think, this needs professional attention from many different avenues. Medical, dental and physical help. Everything is connected here. And please don't get yourself in a frenzy as that will effect her too. I guess you need to start making phone calls to the different agencies that are available to her. Have you asked her what she likes or wants to eat? Maybe smoothies are the answer. Soft things like mashed potatoes, sweet potatos, soups, scrambled eggs, mac and cheese maybe? You take care of yourself too------

Ask the doctor to refer you to a dietician. You will learn how to balance the different food categories. Protein contains the least calories per gram, but you can't leave it out entirely.
