If you haven't already tried Alabama white barbecue sauce, I highly recommend it.

Have saved a couple of recipes for it recently, but found a bottle of it at Aldi yesterday.

Served it as a dipping sauce for some of Costco's frozen panko-coated chicken tenders last night.  Husband loved it.

I hadn't heard of white barbeque sauce before, so I looked it up on the internet. Seems it's been used in Alabama since the 1920s. Southern Living and AllRecipes both have recipes that I saw and look pretty simple to make. The base is mayonnaise and apple cider vinegar for those of you (like me) who haven't heard of it before. Here's the Southern Living Recipe:

1 cup mayonnaise

1/3 cup apple cider vinegar

3 tsp water

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1/2 tsp Kosher salt

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper

1/4 tsp hot sauce

Stir all ingredients together; serve immediately or chill; lasts in refrigerator up to 3 days.

I make my friend's recipe for this when grilling chicken.  It packs a bit of a punch:

3/4 cup mayonnaise

2 tbsp cider vinegar

2 tsp sugar

1/2 tsp jarred horseradish

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp pepper

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Mix everything in blender until smooth.  Let sit in refrigerator in covered container overnight.

Oh yes, white sauce is the only BBQ sauce I like.

Some recipes for the sauce include dark brown sugar and  lemon juice.

Seems easy to customize to suit personal taste.
