APPLE DUMPLINGS

INGREDIENTS:

2 large Golden Delicious Apples, peeled and cored

2 (10 ounce) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup butter

1 1/2 cups white sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle Mountain Dew

DIRECTIONS:

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.

2. Cut each apple into 8 wedges and set aside. Separate the crescent roll dough into triangles. Roll each apple wedge in crescent roll dough, starting at the smallest end. Pinch to seal and place in the baking dish.

3. Melt butter in a small saucepan and stir in the sugar and cinnamon. Pour over the apple dumplings. Pour Mountain Dew over the dumplings.

4. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown.

NOTE: I like to serve the dumplings with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. These are so easy and are so good. Do not be alarmed by all the liquid before they are baked. The liquid thickens up to such a wonderful sweet sauce. My husband would rather have these dumpling than he would an apple pie and apple pie was a favorite of his. I like to serve the dumplings hot out of the oven..........My husband don't care if they are hot or cold as long as he has them.

One of the submitters wanted to know where every one was from.........I am now living in Nevada, born and raised in Michigan, spent 7 years in Calif. and spent 28 years in Florida. I have gathered recipes from all the places I have lived and my sister who lives in VA has shared recipes with me.

Hope you are enjoy this recipe.
