Do Amish use electric crock pots?  I don't mean to be smart here, but there is something contradictory there.

Anyway, I generally make a veggie soup with cabbage or Brussel sprouts.  I basically use broth and whatever veggies look good like squash, zucchini, carrots, cabbage/Brussel sprouts, spinach/kale, turnips, etc...salt/pepper to taste, garlic, or a spice mix I got in the spice aisle. I don't use tomatoes as the canned tomatoes kill my stomach and don't get me started on V8 juice.  I love the taste though, but gosh my stomach hates the increased acidity the canning process gives.
