36 Recipes For Green Beans: Southern Living

[ Edited ]

Looking for something new to do with green beans, I came across these recipes which include green beans in salad and as a dinner side.

If anyone else needs a little help for something new for the holidays, here's a little inspiration. Photos included for each one:

I usually try to use all fresh vegetables, however, recently I tried the frozen green beans in the bag. You just throw the bag in the microwave, and 6 min. later they are perfect.I'm probably late to this party, but these beans taste better than fresh

Ok, tieing up string beans is too much work for me.  I got out of breath just looking at the pic.

This time of year I like them roasted with a little EV olive oil, sugar, salt, and pepper.  Sometimes I make a dressing of garlic, lemon zest, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, lemon juice and oil.

Hi @QVCkitty1

I'm glad you mentioned that, I know several chefs say there are frozen veg that taste better than fresh.  I'll try them, thanks Smiley Happy

ps Trader Joe's has haricot vert, the French green beans.  I like to get those, they're always tender and turn out nicely done.

Oh my goodness!  I like green beans well enough but now I’m literally craving them. The recipe with candied jalapeño sounds good as well as the roasted green beans wth sun-dried tomatoes.

re: frozen green beans

I like green beans cooked any old way, but DH and I have taken a special liking to a very convenient pair of frozen green beans.

Birds Eye Steamfresh Steakhouse Green Beans (seasoned with something approximating  Montreal Steak Seasoning with lots of garlic and pepper)

Green Giant Steamers Green Beans and Almonds
