@foodie105  I don't like it when the rep says "We" when it's clear they rep many products. I think the product company dictates what the rep should say, so I don't blame Jen.  Jen was certainly walking a fine line on that "crown" danish type treat. It's sweet, but not too sweet? I guess....  Reps are schooled as to what to say, so it's not up to them. If I were uncomfortable with it, I would find another line of work.

Doesn't everyone that works for a company say "we"?  I know I do.  As in, "I'm sorry we no longer offer that product " or "thank you for shopping with us".  I oversee 3 distinct brands within my corporation, so whichever store I'm in at that moment, it's "we".

It's called a "sales pitch".  Don't like it?  Turn it off?  You have the final say.

When you’re representing your employer in public it's perfectly acceptable, the norm and often a requirement to say "We."  You are their agent.  Even for a 10 minute presentation,  you are speaking for the company,  your boss at that moment.

When speaking or writing for public consumption, our standard is to always use "We", since we are conveying the company's views and opinions.

I guess I don't see the big deal. Salespeople everywhere do this. It's nothing new. And people can like both savory and sweet.

I get what you are saying. @foodie105 You are right. Since we know these are just hired reps, and probably had no connection to the said company before this.  It is disingenuous.

That’s the problem with QVC, we know this. The sales tactics are obvious.  You can’t have it both ways.

It would have been better to say if you don’t like overly sweet desserts, try these you might like them. They are not overly sweet.

Then tell us how much sugar is in the item.  Is that why they aren’t as sweet. They do that with Roar.

It is....seen any of the RH? I've never seen a full episode but have seen a few minutes and they wear serious jewelry with jeans, also lots of young Hollywood, female rappers do as well.

@ellaphant   True, but I'm not in in Hollywood, a RH or a rapper, so it's a hard pass for me.

Jen Kovich and others who always say "we" as if she actually has a say in any of the multiple brands she represents or like she works for the company says while presenting some sort of sweet fruit pastry.....if you only like savory, you will love these....if you don't like sweets, you will love these ....then proceeds to say she actually doesn't like sweets, but by gosh she likes these miraculously. It's so disingenuous. I listen to lies all the time as we all do, but this one just just got my toast a little too well done!

@foodie105

I find it quite a stretch for you to say she is 'lying'.

Gimme a break, sales pitches are just that.

She is well spoken, knows her products...all of them...and is calm in manner and speech.

I really don't listen much to any of the vendors/hosts  anymore---it is called HYPE  and is used to sell and nothing more. Not much they say will make me want to buy anything, if I don't want it. I will research an item on other sites, compare and such, but pretty much I never rush to order anything.

Regarding saying "we", say my favorite Baseball Team wins. I would say "We won!" That does not mean I was personally playing short-stop. It is just a way of speaking.

YES!!! Thank you. It really irritates me when the folks who present items for vendors pretend that they work at the vendor's company when we know that they don't!!!!
In my book that's lying.
I really wish they would stop it. Stacy S. does the same thing....as do a couple of others.
It's insulting to us.
