If one has purchased an "As Is" item, was the experience positive or negative.  I shall appreciate your input.

For me, several purchases, all positive.

I have purchased many As Is items and they all look like they were brand new. The box may have been beaten up, but the product had all of the tags, inserts, etc.

I usually buy home items such as VPH, but recently made a garment purchase and it was also in perfect condition.

Two thumbs up from me!

All positive for me, too. That includes clothing, shoes, jewelry and home decor.

The item I purchased, a humidifier, had a missing part required to function properly. Aside from that, it was in good condition and QVC made the return easy.

Based on my experience, I would buy another "As Is" item from QVC, but I would make sure it was an item that did not have parts to assemble. I would buy an "as is" handbag from QVC, but if it came with accessories like some Dooney bags do, I would either pass or expect that the accessories may not arrive with the bag.

I think mostly people have had fine experiences with "as is."  I've purchased about 5 items as is, and only one was questionable,  The questionable one was Isaac's TSV sweater.  It had obviously been worn (no sweat or odor at all). It had slight pills under the arms, but the price was quite well reduced so I washed it and am happy for the savings.

As is items are returnable.  If actually defective, you can ask Q to pay return postage.

What is the average markdown on "as-is?"  Or does it vary widely?  I've never bought "as-is" but would shy away unless it was a deep discount.

I've purchased a LOT of DB 'as is' handbags over almost 20 years and maybe had to return 1 or 2. The rest were all like brand new.

I won't buy 'as is' clothing, because I'm afraid it's been stained, shrunk, etc.

I definitely won't buy any 'as is' items in January or February, as buyers have had 3 months to use and possibly abuse the item, then return it, due to the 'holiday return' policy.

I'm still shocked that people do that, but they do.

I bought some Sketchers boots and they were fine.  They were definately new, never worn.
