They are different. Media Center was last seen in Window Vista,Windows 7, and Windows 8 Pro. Media player can be found in Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. Windows 10 will not have Media Center or Media Player.

 

I use a media program VLC to play video, and some audio files iTunes will not handle.

Microsoft always remove things we like from their latest version of Windows.

Thank you, nutmeg3. This now makes me hesitate about downloading Windows 10. Will have to think about it.
