Rescue lover, even if they were made of gold, I still would not pay that much. I am a bonafide chocoholic and I would never pay that much for any chocolate!

I know the Estanbul brand of their version is $29.99 for a 7oz bar.

LOL!!!  Get some for your "gift" closet!!!

I thought Frango's for $30/lb was ridiculous.  This is way beyond that!

Dubai???

Dubai chocolate is expensive wherever you find it.  I assume it is labor-intensive to make, and can be costly to source the ingredients.  Unfortunately they are delicious, especially the dark chocolate ones.  There are some European chocolate shops near me (NYC) that have Swiss and Belgian chocolate confections at similar jaw-dropping prices.

@Bookplate  ???

I have been to Dubai & have never heard of their chocolate nor knew they were known for it.   I don't even remember seeing chocolate there.

Is this something new Dubai is doing?

MY PERSONAL OPINION:  Belgium has the best tasting chocolate in the world.

Trader Joes introduced a version of Dubai chocolate at more affordable price; my store sold out in 3 hours ( next delivery is Oct) so I may never get to try it!

@Mz iMac   I agree about Belgium.

The Dubai bars have been around for a few years.  They got a big start on social media, like a lt of things.  There is a Wikapedia entry if you want to read up on the trend.  Apparently even Lindt has a bar with Dubai filling now.
