Guard Your ID Advanced X 3pc Variety Set w/Rainbow Blade

I've seen this product on Q for many years.  Yet, not 1 review!!confused.gif

If anybody ever purchased, does it really work?  How long do they last before the ink dries up?

Re: ❓Works as advertised❓

We just put anything that has our name/address on it in the shredder.

I use a very oversize black magic marker.  Walmart.

Re: ❓Works as advertised❓

@Mz iMac I purchased a similar one V36498 set of 3 in November. I am still using my 2rd one. I do use it a lot and I will probably order another set or something similar.

Re: ❓Works as advertised❓

I thought about these years ago, but decided to get a small shredder since these would have to be replaced every so often.

Re: ❓Works as advertised❓

I don't have that particular set with the opener thingy, but I bought a set of the ID protectors years ago and I just now started the last one.  They last a lot longer than what I thought they would.  I use those on some things and shred others.

I think they do work better than magic markers, but I find some things I go over at different angles a few times--for example, horizontally, vertically, and diagonally.

However, they don't work on shiny labels no matter what the vendor may say.

Re: ❓Works as advertised❓

Thanks to all who responded.  Much appreciated.

I have 2 shredders, 1 in the bedroom & 1 in the living room.  I was interested in the Guard ID thingie for my rx bottles & magazines & catalogs.  Like Kachina624 I have been using a large/over sized black waterproof magic marker for it if I couldn't peel the labels off easily.  That is until one of my grands held up a magazine I had blacked out up to a light & read my name & address. Smiley Surprised

I get a lot of magazines & catalogs in snail mail.  When done, I leave them where ever I am reading them for others to read.  I've always toren off the section w/my personal info off.  I can keep the Guard ID in my pocketbook or a pocket to use instead of tearing off my info.

Re: ❓Works as advertised❓

[ Edited ]

I ordered a set of 3 a couple of years ao, and I'm still just on the first one - It works great for me!

I mostly use it to obscure SS #'s, policy numbers, account numbers, etc.

I don't bother using it on the 1 or 2 catalogs that I still get, because I'm not concerned about my name and address being on them...

Honestly, everyone knows that information can be found on the internet by anyone anyway. Smiley Happy

@Mz iMac I use this all the time. I have a shredder yet I find this easier. Yes it really works.
