Re: Why no Holiday Programming this year?

QVC moved Christmas programming onto their streaming channels.  Last year they created their animated, Christmas for the Elves, starring David, Mary, Amy, Rachel, Rick, and Isaac.   It was back again this year, showing up until Christmas Day (it's still showing on QVC's YouTube channel though).

They still have a Yule Log video showing on their streaming channel.  There's also a video of David in the QVC kitchen being 'interviewed" about his personal Christmas family traditions, called Off Hours.  Plus several other holiday videos of hosts making Christmas-themed cookies, cocktails, pastries, tablescapes, and party game ideas.  They did about 10 separate videos.

So it was all there, just not on the main channel.  Sign of the times.  The whole concept of main channel is getting blurred since QVC is increasingly committed to social media and streaming channels.

@Caaareful Shopper

I never thought of this - I don't do the FB, IG or anything else for shopping.  At first, I signed up for the FB page follow I "deleted" more ads, ridiculous sales pitches from hosts, etc. just not for me.

@homedecor1  I actually like the streaming channels much more.  It's the six channels of QVC & HSN, plus anywhere from about 60 to 70 different videos.

Re: Why no Holiday Programming this year?

Very disaapointed by the lack of holiday programming this year. It has become a tradition to watch the hosts prepare holiday cookies, sing Christmas carols and share stories.  All the quaint homey qualities we loved about QVC seem to be slowly disappearing.

I agree. Hate streaming. Like to turn channels up and down. Not a fan of the new technology at all.

Maybe due to COVID, people couldn’t get together like camera people in their homes or other personnel necessary for a production.

@homedecor1  you and me both -- I'm terrible at technology.

But I cut the cable cord about 5 years ago and got Roku.  Just plugged in the Roku stick.  I pay for three streaming channels and everything else are free channels (like QVC/HSN).  I'm still saving over $150/month vs. my cable bill (Comcast/Xfinity).

Getting all those QVC/HSN channels and videos was a surprise to me.

I also watch a lot of shows, and movies from youtube, for free, and listen to podcasts on Spotify -- all on my TV.  With Sling TV alone (just one of the streaming channel services), I have every channel I used to watch on cable, plus premium channels.  More channels than I could ever keep up with.

Trust me, if I had to do anything more than just turn the TV on to get all that, it would never happen. Smiley Wink
