It is an annoying tactic. I remember years ago they said they cannot purchase till it's off air or close to sell out.

This does not bother me at all......although, since the hosts all say they see the items several times before going on air, I am mystified why they do not order before the show!

And then there's the old," I'm definitely ordering this if there are any left."

I remember years ago a host (think it was Jane Treacy) saying she hoped the item wouldn't sell out because she wanted to order one. She said they weren't allowed to order until they got off the air. Does anyone remember this or something similar? Maybe that marketing ploy didn't work as well so they switched it to letting hosts order on air??
