You don't, when that prompt comes up just type in your existing nic, it'll take it.

 

It's still an annoying extra step, that IT can't seem to fix....among many other things IT can't fix.


That didn't work for me.  It told me someone was already using that name. Duh. I wish they would fix the problems they're having.

You can also just refresh the page by the circular arrow at the top left on your browser, close the browser and open it again and the request to change your info is removed
