Why did QVC go back to keeping TSV a secret?

Top secret for the TSV. Honestly, I am quite busy and there are days when I miss the TSV item of the day. Interesting how they thought that keeping in so under wraps is good for sales. Maybe because it would give customers more time to price shop/compare? If it is an apparel item I am totally out because I like to try things on before purchasing. Also, the clothing prices are outrageous anyway, even if it is the value of the day.

Everyone is busy. That's life. Sometimes you win, sometimes you don't.

I don't buy clothes from Q either. They are overpriced compared to what you can find elsewhere. Countless other retailers don't charge shipping and I don't wear so much polyester no matter what cutsie name it's given.

From what I've seen the TSVs are neither "special" nor a "value." Plus they seem to be the same vendors ad nauseum, i.e, Gravel, Graver, Josie, Logo et al. Yawn!

It started in June 2022 as one of the pillars in the "Project Athens" 3 year turn around plan.

CEO Rawlinson stated then that anticipation would increase viewership and sales. Its success remains to be seen.

I like how HSN's President has thumbed his nose at this. HSN frequently has multiple TS previews, robust TS post sales at the same TS price and sometimes has 20+ TSs on one day.

a company should want to increase sales, a mention of the up coming TSV would get customers excited and ready to buy

Quite honestly there hasn't been a TSV on in a very long time that was of interest to me. I always look at the app each day to see what the TSV is. I haven't been missing anything.

@Suneshine It's a sales tactic and to be honest, I really don't care if the TSV is announced a week early or the day of. I rarely buy TSV's since I rely heavily on reviews and generally, TSV's are new and have no reviews.

With that said, I do purchase many food items that are TSV if like or similar products have reviews. I have never missed out on anything that I had to have.

I live on the West Coast. By 9:00 PM I am usually done on my computer so I wait until morning to check out what QVC has as the TSV and Lunchtime Specials. This would be about 9:00 AM eastern time and I have never missed out on anything.

Like another poster said, most of us live busy lives. It just takes seconds of your day to check what the TSV is if you are truly interested. No biggie for me, but I do feel there is more anticipation and perhaps more impulse buying if you know there are only hours left. If it isn't financially productive for QVC then they will go back to pre-purchasing otherwise, if it stays as is then it must work for them.
