Re: Why are Newer Hosts on QVC?

I agree with you. Kathy has come a long way and I think the problem is that someone is giving her directions  in her ear piece and she is stopping to listen to their directions. It was very obvious when she first came on as a host. I really believe that some people are more apt to be at ease and become a great host and others aren't . Also, it is important that they be good with the English language and know the meaning of words . I wish all the new hosts the best. I wouldn't make a good host but I am an excellent shopper! Lol. Got the packages to prove it!

[ Edited ]

@Katcat1Since I don't watch QVC anymore and just view videos of items I may have an interest in, I have no idea who any of the new hosts are! Isn't it about time for the six months probabion to be up? Am anxious for their pixtures to be posted on the Host Site for identification! Not aware Q2 or Beauty IQ are "training channels". All the hosts appear on all channels regularly from what I see on the videos. If it were, indeed, a traiining channel things should have become a drastic improvement quickly!

Well, all good things must come to an end.  Pat, MaryBeth, Jane, to name a few, are getting to an age where maybe the powers that be of the Q think that sooner then later they will be considering retirement and the replacments will already be in place.

Mary Nelson in my opinion is the only new host that is doing the best job.  She is always prepared and very professinal. Thankyou Mary I enjoy watching you. Keep up the good work.

QVC2 and BeautyIQ may not be considered training channels, but QVC2 is definitely not considered on par with QVC as it features a lot of rerun programming.  If they were viewed as equals, I doubt whether this would be the case.

@Katcat1- I used to be a QVC viewer, but now I'm just a QVC online shopper.  Back in the day, I use to enjoy the presentations, but stopped watching partly for the reasons you stated,  Thx for your post...

I think they will be around until 65 like DW, unless they are pushed out. If they didn't push DW out they won't bother the women.

Re: Why are Newer Hosts on QVC?

I think QVC should have improved the original channel instead of adding the two new channels.  I don't care much for them so seldom watch.  As far as the hosts introducing themselves, I think most of them do state their name and the name of the show at the beginning.  Also, many have their name in the title of the show (which to me is unnecessary).

Re: Why are Newer Hosts on QVC?

My guess is that the two newer channels need their fair share of the experienced and well followed hosts because they are building a following and viewership. People will more likely tune in to watch the newer stations if they hosts and vendors they love and like to watch are on there. If the new channels were just the newbie hosts, the channels wouldn't generate the sales needed to keep then on.
