I agree that this is a very happy memory for me, although I always cried when she read the poem!
She was just the best host (IMO). The gold standard!

Yes, for a long time Kathy would volunteer for the sign off show, since, this was not her holiday to celebrate, she wanted other hosts to be able to be off and celebrate with their families.
I remember meeting Kathy in person and she was just lovely. Have missed her from the Q.

Kathy was by far, IMO, the best host ever on a shopping channel. I still miss her.
One year she was the speaker at a business luncheon my sister attended. I was insanely jealous because I couldn't go. Aftwards, in speaking to Kathy, my sister told her about me wanting to be there. For Christmas that year, I got a framed photo of Kathy and sister thumbing their noses at me..... Kathy's idea.

@Kachina624 , That sounds like Kathy, she was my favorite, a real pioneer and a class act.

I've never seen them sign off, because I'm very busy Christmas Eve. I do enjoy seeing some of the taped shows Christmas Day. I especially liked it one year when they ran Meredith Lawrence teaching all day!
I thought Elise was going to have the last show, but I see it will be on QVC2.
Elise' schedule of shows:
Friday, December 24, 2021 on QVC2

@Reever wrote:It was always a tradition for Steve Bryant to be the last host to appear on air. Steve would read a Christmas Carol and bring his dog on the set. Sadly in recent years they have employed hard sale techniques right up to the end. I would love to see the hosts gather and sing a Christmas carol before they go to taped programming.
I really liked Steve.....I sent him an email once (something I rarely do) and received a charming return from him. Loved his dry sense of humor and his quick mind.

I heard Jen say that she was working Christmas Eve and New Years eve. I believe she will be doing the last show on Christmas Eve.

@Carmie I remember one year watching Jane Tracey and her girls baking cookies. It was prerecorded as well. I agree QVC should close from Christmas Eve through the 26th. Prerecorded shows like how the hosts spend holidays at home, how they decorate, tours of their houses decorated, hosts singing or reading Christmas stories. There's always online shopping if need be.
