Can you recall  which year you saw Qvc on TV for the first time?  Did you buy something that day? If so what was it?

Re: Which year Was It?

[ Edited ]

It was 1996 or 97.  Jane Treacey had a Saturday morning show.  I bought a  travel bag which was too big and I sent the first item I ever bought from QVC back.  The second item I bought was a breast cancer awareness pin which I still have.

JT was my favorite host back then.  She has changed a lot!

TV shopping was such a novelty back then that I clearly remember what I bought.

I did not buy anything that day, but not long after I began buying jewelry.

It was when QVC started and most likely it was Bob Bowersox that sold it, first QVC purchase was Corning French White casserole set which I still have, just used one of the pieces last week Smiley Happy

Basically it was 1986 but I was a young mom and didn't have $$ to shop online back then.

I did enjoy watching it though, it was an interesting concept for sure.  Funny all these years later how it's almost done a full circle becoming anitquated.........yikes I feel old.

Not sure when I landed on QVC, or what I first purchased, since I initially started shopping on HSN, in the mid 90's. I think my first HSN purchase may have been perfume. QVC's first probably would have been skin care.

Then I moved to QVC and have rarely made HSN purchases since. I preferred QVC's hosts and the set designs. It just seemed more polished to me. A little higher end, but that's JMHO.

1986. Up at 3 am or so while my toddler daughter slept. Flipping channels I saw a familiar face from my home town and stopped to see what was on. It was Jennifer Kirk with Judy Crowell. They were both dressed up faitytale style selling Kirk's Folly jewelry.

I was hooked. I didn't buy anything for a few days but later my first purchase was a Boyd's Bear for my daughter. After that lots of stuff as I could afford it. Jewelry became my favorite. I couldn't afford much but I watched every show I could. Enjoyed every one.

At that time EZ pay was offered only rarely but I used it when I could. I used to get a three (or four?) EZ pay offer post card on my birthday. I thought that was great!

It was 1988 or 89. My Mom told me about it as she watched and shopped back when QVC first went on air. (One of her neighbors worked for QVC back then which is how she knew about it).

Not sure if this is the first item I purchased but the first jewelry item I bought was a sterling silver bypass style ring with 2 blue topaz heart shaped stones. I still have it.

I  think it was 1990 when CVN folded and QVC took over.  Didn't have a credit card yet - If I wanted something, my Dad let me use his and then I'd reimburse him.
