Where in the world is David Venable?

Got the catalog yesterday (in the mail)-Unwrap Joy. Lots of Q stars,but no DV. Even a recipe from "Babs Costello", but no David.

I read some OPINIONS on the internet...a couple of opinions that DV seemed rather "down" recently and the opinions thought that perhaps he was feeling uninspired by his career these days.

I believe he is from North Carolina ... that would put

a damper on anyones day watching that ....just sayin ...

@LTT1 that's unfortunate and sad. I haven't read this but I saw some of the 9 PM show presenting yesterday's TSV. David looked great and did a great job with the vendors.

Perhaps he is not as focused on his low carb low sugar meal plan and that has him depressed OR this is not an accurate post. I honestly didn't see any change in his demeanor.

I noticed that too. He could also be getting to the age that he is just sick and tired of working. It seems to happen to many people in their 50's or so. I know it did me. You see people starting to retire and you think "I still have another 10 years to go" and it starts to get you down. You're to old to start over someplace else because who would hire me at my age plays a factor. Work gets old no matter how much you love your job. Also maybe something is going on with his mother. We don't know. It's gotta be tough to put on a happy face day after day, year after year.

I saw briefly last night one of the Hosts , JT, showed the cover of the Holiday flyer with Jayne Brown & Pat on the cover.

I have not received mine as yet , so don't know which Host's photos are contained in the flyer other than Pat & Jayne. Maybe, QVC included those women of the " Age of Possibilities " .

I would not read anything into the absence of him on a catalogue. His role has changed recently as ITKWD is not currently airing. He was on last Sunday with his very popular calendar and looked great Many posters on this forum have been complaining about the ITKWD weekly show saying it was boring and only about selling food. I also think many of us longtime shoppers here have every gadget we will ever need so perhaps it seems boring to us. I welcome change; keeps things more interesting.

I would not read anything into it at all either.

While David continues to have a great many long-term QVC viewing fans, QVC is going in many directions for their future. They're using David's popularity where they think he is best served.

He's not the beacon or sole driving force for QVC like he was say 10 (or even 5) years ago. QVC has elevated many of the hosts in the last couple of years. David has his calendars, brand collaborations in the food and kitchen genre, travels to France on the company dime, etc. But every single marketing push does not have to include David.
