Re: Where have the petite models gone?

[ Edited ]

So what happened to the petite models?  That word QVC uses "inclusive" doesn't mean they actually include everyone.

I'm always suspicious, when someone talks about "inclusive, "because it usually involves stepping on someone else.

For example when QVC began featuring a lot of plus size models, large sizes, and a few vendors specializing in large sizes.  We didn't see many of the tall, slim professional models, did we?  It appears they are beginning to make a comeback, though.

As far as small or overly large handbags, I don't think all women really care about what they look like, it's what they like whether they look good or not.  It's pretty much, "Mind your own business."

Since QVC has gone to more "inclusive" models, in many ways, they just about eliminated the petite smaller models. I always check garment measurements but wish they would at least have photos online of petite, plus, and talls wearing the same garment. I've seen this before but I forget what online retailer it was. It sure was helpful.

I turned Lori Goldstein off this evening, she was on for 2 hours, and I'm sorry, but I am still not seeing models in my size of 8 / 10, medium / large.  'Inclusive' means 'excluding' the smaller sizes, at least that's what I'm seeing over and over.  For heaven's sakes, they are selling a lot of clothing and can afford to have regular size models as well!

  • America has normalized obesity. Many of the larger
  • Plus size models look very unhealthy. People should

@Gkhm    I suspect it's a cost cutting measure.   There was a time when they had 3 and 4 models on set especially for a TSV to show petite tall and regular.

Well, I doubt that they are cutting costs.  Certain pieces of clothing look better on certain people… That's why we have designers.  There are people who design clothing for plus size people and that is why they look good on them.  Other designers design for smalls and mediums and that's why they look good on those people.  If I see something that is designed for someone my size, but it's on a different sized model it sometimes looks horrible and in that case, I am not even going to investigate the item...ergo.... they have lost a sale.

Just my opinion.
