I don't know why but "When the show is over ...the deal is over" really is a turn off to me. I guess because if you can reduce the (usually outrageous) price, why not for longer than the show.

That to me is borderline sleazy.

@bestday

I understand it is a marketing tool to create urgency to purchase, but I completely agree with you. For instance if I tune into QVC2 late at night on Sunday and they are repeating  a broadcast from Friday with a "One Time Only" that is no longer being sold at a reduced price, viewers don't even know what price they will be paying.

Oh well, just another example how QVC continually shoots themselves in the foot.☹️

@bestday I agree! wish the special pricing would be extended for a couple of days. Very often, the show's replay is shown later overnight on QVC2. Couldn't the special pricing be extended for just a little longer in order to cover these replayed airings? Perhaps a two day period? I also find it irritating to be watching QVC2, get ready to order something (Cuddl Duds PJ's most recently), and the special pricing which is being displayed, has expired by a few hours. I do not place the order. I wish QVC would at least consider a brief extension on special pricing.

Does the limited time "Blue Light Special" ring a bell?

I agree and it makes the host's job ten times harder. They have to remember (or repeat from the producer) when this item's deal is over at the end of the show, or the end of the day, etc., plus recite colors, how many are flying out the door, tell us ad nauseam it's the only order of the year, reign in over talkative vendors AND entertain us with song and dance.

It's no wonder most are acting nuttier and nuttier.

It's also "strange" because of TIME ZONES....4 in the Lower 48, plus Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico...

Re: When the show is over......

@bestday Actually, just about every retailer offers limited time sales. Every single online business I purchase from I will receive a coupon/% off or a notice that there is a "limited" time sale. Now, this could be for one day, or perhaps the weekend, etc. I don't feel this is sleazy, this is business.

From Google:

Why do companies do limited time offers?

Limited-time offers are a tried and tested way of boosting your sales. They're effective because of the specific way they increase your customer's feeling of urgency. This encourages them to act quickly and make a purchase.Jan 27, 2023

Agree @cjm61 .  Limited time sales is normal.  I dont see anything wrong with it.

I don't see anything wrong with it at all.  It's a sales technique old as time.

Do you dislike Flash Sales as well?  Every retailer has their version of a limited time offer.

"Sleazy?"
