Used to be after you posted a reply on a thread, it would take you right back to where you posted. But now they take you back all right. To the first page, not the page you just replied on. What is with that?

Also, they might do something about the hair trigger they have for just passing over something on the way to a different thread. e.g. if my mouse just happens to pass over something else, I immediately get the homepage or today's top value or something I have absolutely no interest in.

It's a given that nothing is the same for every poster here.  Somethings always changing...

Nothing's changed for me either.  Very occasionally I will get taken back to the first page of a thread instead of where I left off, but not often.

Always taken back to the first page of a thread after I post regardless to how many pages exist between.

I don't think the mods do or can change anything. I think things just happen as what is mentioned here and the awful "wrote" instead of the posters name which makes it hard to follow a thread. I have had a few of those attributed to me when it wasn't my reply at all. Mods say they give all these problems to the IT dept. My theory is that the IT dept doesn't have a clue what they are doing.

Nothing changed for me still takes me back to the first page of the thread.

I believe it takes you back to whichever post you replied to.

If you hit the red "reply" link at the very top of the page which is for the original post, it will take you back to the first page.

But if you reply to another post and hit the gray reply link in that other post, then that's where you'd go back to. 

Maybe that's not what you meant.

if there are new replies to a thread it will take me to the newest reply when i enter the thread again.....that is shaded in blue/grey.

if there are no new replies and i go back into a thread, it takes me to the first post of the thread.

this is the way it has always been for me.
