Got that right!!! ( about resellers and just plain ordinary other places to shop!!!)
ALL of the stuff sold on QVC is available elsewhere, and I mean the very vendors and selections most of the time. May not have every size every time, but that stuff they dont' sell goes SOMEWHERE after a while....
Before I buy anything on Q, I check a few re-seller sites ( a popular one is.....wait for it...E-bay!!!) You do NOT have to be a customer, have an account, and can buy as easily as on Amazon with any credit card and some vendors even will offer thier own version of "easy pay"...
One thing I will say in Q's favor....when you see the other sites shipping charges you will agree that QVC's are a bargain!!! (for most items).....
And I'm talking BRAND NEW merchandise. Check for yourself. Temptations, Susan Graver, Le Creuset, ANY of their own Q brands you can find on that site.
New WITH tags. Or New in Box. People buy stuff, don't use it or like it, resell it.
QVC has SO much competitition, and the more tech savvy people become, the more they will lose on sales.
Once people accept and use streaming, they will move quickly to other online vendors and sites.
It's the way of change.....

I would miss QVC for sure. But, probably for different reasons.
Mostly, I enjoy having something on TV while home. QVC is always my standby. There's no storyline so I can continue with household chores and whatnot and really not miss anything.
@depglass I used to do that too...don't anymore, but I did for years. Got rid of cable, and now if I want to watch Q, which I haven't in a few months, I'll stream online but not keep it on in the background much anymore. Listen to more podcasts as I work around the house lately.
But that said...your comment made me think, years ago said that to my BF that I kept it on for the reason you state...and also that there were "no commercials", which I hate... to which he rightly responded..."But it IS one long commercial!" Lol. Still....different.

A couple of years ago I couldn't get QVC on my cable ( Spectrum). I never got around to looking into it and at first I missed it, but I could still shop the website. It was close to a year, and got my cable box updated and the Q was back. I turn it on from time to time, but I never went back to the way I used to watch.

@
More malls and stand alone storefronts, and places to walk in and browse...
All those are in thier last death throes too.....and QVC may be next...
Who knows? Maybe streaming WILL save it.....I used to have it on in the background too for reasons mentioned...no plot, no bad news, no horrific stories of people hurting other people or animals, no politics, no opinions...just mild, banal, offbeat chatter, the cadence changing each hour as a new host came on, and just when you couldn't stand what they were selling, the hour changed and something different was presented...
Happy dances, Yum Yum faces, squirrel baby talk, and other chatter filled the background..
Now it's shrieking, colors, number of same ole same ole left to move out today, clothes that look like circus rejects or stuff you'd find in a hamper in a five minute stopover on a cross country bus trip, day four....
Change has happened. Standalone stores...gone. Malls....moldy, mildewed, weeds growing up in the floor, water cascading from the broken pipes in the cieiling ( someone forgot to turn off the water before winter, after the heat was already shut off.....)..
The best thing about QVC? You don't risk execution in the ladies wear section when some malcontent decides it's your time.

I agree, many years ago QVC was a fantastic place to order from. But times change. B&M stores no longer have any appeal to me now either, have not been in one since Covid.
Look around at other sites and dip your toe in. It can be fun.

Sometimes I wonder too. It's QVC and HSN for me. Probably 80% of my large wardrobe comes from them. 90% of my shoes and handbags. 100% of my body & skincare.

Personally, I don't think QVC will fail.
However, it's really not a good idea to put all our eggs in one basket.

Somehow, I doubt that HSN & QVC will go away. I think they will go through more changes, maybe even become a bit smaller. I expect more layoffs too.
I think a lot of people order online rather than watch the live shows. They may try to amp up their online sales by offering online only deals etc. As a result, they may need fewer hosts.Which means saving money on salaries & benefits.

I mainly order from catalogues. Once you order from one catalogue you get on mailing lists and get many clothes catalogues.
