Re: What shocks me about the Temptations glove recall

[ Edited ]

@kitcat51,

I'm glad you posted about that product recall link. Everyone should check it out to make sure they don't have one of these many.

There are so many!

And 1 death reported from Good Earth Lighting recalls due to fire and burn hazards;

children's Flat River bicycles recalled due to crash and injury and violation of  Federal Safety regulations for bicycles and more-a whole page. One death from recalled Halo1000 portable power station.

Re: What shocks me about the Temptations glove recall

I've known for years that these gloves were not good.  I bought a couple pair long time ago and I could feel a strong heat, so I immedidately took them off and put on my Ove gloves.  I have written on here before to let people know.  These gloves are worthless.

I just saw where Tara has made an announcement about the gloves on Instagram.

She stated there have been dissatisfied customers ,and that Temptations is working with QVC in voluntarily recalling them.

She put me on hold and told me I have to contact another company.  She gave me the info and I have to take a picture to prove I have them.

Why can't they just look at my order history.  They aren't just giving out refunds.  You have to jump through some hoops first.

@Winkk - I just looked at the Recall information at the bottom of QVC's website.  It says to return it to QVC for a refund.

They list all the item numbers these were sold under.  You shouldn't have to go through any other company to get a refund.

Remedy:

Consumers should immediately stop using the oven gloves and contact QVC to receive a refund.

@Venezia -- I saw that too, but when I called they said a third party was handling it.  They said that recalls have to be tracked for legal reasons.

@on the bay. I'm guessing they attempt to email a notice to purchasers.  Of course that won't include gift recipients or people who've changed email addresses.

I must say I've often felt the heat through pot holders and either doubled them or pitched them out.  Never got burned.  If somethings starts to feel hot I'd put it down.  This isn't life-threatening.

Re: What shocks me about the Temptations glove recall

They were still available for purchase this morning.

I notice now that they are missing.

I agree that not enough has been done to alert those who purchased these gloves to warn them BEFORE they use them.   QVC certainly has all the sales records.

I think they have an obligation to notify all those who have purchased them since 2018.

@Venezia.  Hiring an outside processor was the logical thing to do.  If CS  and the warehouse suddenly had to verify 1 million returns at the height of holiday season, it would cripple the operation.

@Kachina624,

Yes, I agree that the stoneware should have been recalled as well and I don't remember Tara ever addressing it?

That is what I"m saying though. If you don't have the news on, how would you know unless you are lucky enough to read these forums.

Or one of those in the know people who know there is a product recall link at the very bottom of the page.

I am always grateful for these forums because like the California earthquake and these darn oven mitts,or any breaking news, I see it here first.

It was on QVCs FB and IG pages too.  I've seen it several times today plus on the local news.  They have to get it out through whatever channels they have before they start sending emails or snail mail notices.  Ikea and Target do it the same way.

How could they have warned 6 years of customers about a recall that happened yesterday before they used them?

Re: What shocks me about the Temptations glove recall

I wanted to order them from time to time. Happy now I didn't. When the blendjet recall happened they did make it right. My account was credited.
