i have done this before on speciallly priced items (including lunchtime specials), so here is a suggestion.......customer service AND the mods are usually great. i honestly dont find this to be a major problem at all over the many years i have shopped with qvc.

explain your situation to customer service. tell them you wanted the items at the special pricing but could not get waitlist. they are now on waitlist. ask to join waitlist at the special pricing offered originally. they can usually accomodate you.

if the customer service representative doesnt give you any help, then try the mods. they usually go above and beyond when it comes to helping a customer.

give QVC the chance to "make it right" for you, especially if it was an item you really wanted.

nothing ventured, nothing gained.

You are right. Many times I've asked CS for something similar to this or when having to return an item that was a TSV or special pricing, to immediately send me out another one at that expired pricing, instead of waiting till the return arrives and is processed (so I don't loose the color etc. while waiting), and they have always been great about things like that.

But my point is really that they need to correct things like this and not make a customer have to work for what is already there, available, etc.

Several times in the last year, during their free shipping days for instance, they had system failures and couldn't process orders for part of the time of the event (usually late in the day). Customers were irate. What Q should have done was extend the offer once the systems were back up. But instead they make the customer work for it.

I just don't see it as good business practice. Their lack of planning or inadequate systems, or whatever causes similar things to happen, shouldn't then be turned into extra work and frustration for the customer. It's just not the way business should be conducted.

@Mominohio I understand what you are saying. No waitlist at the special price, and then when it expires, waitlist is possible. That is not typical.

Years ago I had seen that happen at times with clothing items.  Guess it's nothing new.

Don't sweat the small stuff.  If it was out of stock for a bit, not life changing. It is disappointing and even irritating sometimes, yes.  It's just not worth taking up space in my brain.  Life goes on.
