I guess QVC's thinking is---customers you have to keep watching and checking in order to get that best price....(a full time job) so many types of pricing-----"this show only",  "event pricing", "special pricing",  "Shop The Deals"...."hot pick"....TSV pre-sale/TSV's, The Big Deal preview/The Big Deal, Beauty IQ Steal----who has time to keep up.....

Amazon does this all the time. However, I don't think this will work for QVC.

Yes they do!  Prices change on Amazon by the hour it seems!  LOL

I want an AF jump up $25 at Amazon within hours after I put it in my Wish List

Yep, an Amazon Executive gave an interview with one of the business journals....He admitted that they change thousands of prices daily.....They will lower a price on one item to beat a competitor's sale price, and then will increase prices on other items to make up the difference....and said that an advantage they have is that the consumer thinks that Amazon is always the lowest so they dont comparison shop so they get the sales on the higher priced items too.....

One poster here said she saw a handbag originally priced at $159 increase to $499....🙄

So the recommendtion is comparison shop...dont just awesome...

I bought a pair of as-is Marc Fisher boots. The price went from $80 to $50 to $39 and now they are $90. I have them on my wishlist b/c I wanted another pair in a different color and it has been amusing watching the price see-saw.

I never assume Amazon has the lowest price.  Often they do not.

I recently bought vitamins from Vitacost that cost a lot more on Amazon. Ordered on Wednesday, and received on Friday. That is fast enough shipping for me.

Absolutely!  I learned Amazon is NOT the cheapest always!

I made that assumption when I ordered the IP glass lid (for slow cooking).

It was $20 more on Amazon than the IP site!

I was lucky enough to cancel that order and have been very wary of them ever since.

I have seen some nasty price gouging that reminded me of ebay sellers who have a sought after product/item.

I won't pay for Prime.  Don't have to, DD has it, so she orders for me!  LOL

Even if she didn't, I can always come up w/ a $25 order to get free shipping and am NEVER in a big hurry for anything!

Wow, I can't believe that Exec admitted what they do and let the cat outta the bag!

I hate pricing games, I don't want coupons, gimmicks etc.  Just give me the fair, best price !

I check all my QVC purchases for the 30 days.  They have been GREAT about adjusting any amount when the price changes lower.

Amazon will NOT do that!  I tried a couple times for a price adjustment within 2 days!

It goes lower after you order, TOO BAD!

There are two tops I've watched the price change constantly on, when there are 6 ez pays the prices sky rocket, when those 6 go away, they get cheaper, free shipping, price went up.

@Anonymous032819 not on a daily basis unless its gas prices. Most brick and mortar stores use the if it goes on clearance, they don't raise the prices again. that's a Q trick.

Re: What is with the bouncing prices???

@Spurt ha, I most certainly don't have time to keep up with all of that crazy variable pricing. I keep things on my wish list and there are some lines that if I like an item I'll buy it. I don't have QVC on "all day" in any way these days - not even on the weekend.

I always comparison shop and lately have found that my preference for buying clothes is other retailers than QVC - better pricing and shipping.

Re: What is with the bouncing prices???

A number of online stores - especially Amazon - have adopted "dynamic" pricing.  That is, prices fluctuate continuously based on demand and a host of other factors.  I've read they even adjust pricing on a personal level - i.e., prices offered to you may be different than those offered someone else.

I'm not sure how I feel about that ...
