what happened to the "Q" I knew

I don't watch as much  of the Q like I did.

The "Hard Sell"

The "dog and pony shows"

The outragous prices.

Instead of the "special promos, bring down the prices, bring up the quality of shows.

It was always a classy show no "happy dance" no mega easy pays. no high prices...

it's sad to see what was once a special, classy show go down the tubes...

I AGREE.  THE SHIPPING AND RETURN PRICES ARE TERRIBLE.

THE HOSTS AND VENDORS ARE SO LOUD.  I RARELY WATCH ANYMORE.

Some of the hosts make it all about them.  Some of the hosts have ear-splitting voices; should not be on-air. Some vendors are borderline repulsive.  Not a good place to tune in to anymore.

lol -  I don't think much has really happened that hasn't happened all over our society.  I find lots of aspects of our culture loud and abrasive and hard sell.

As for QVC, years ago I did have it on more often, but I often muted it and I'm talking about the 1990's.  I found the constant clocks, the idea that we could order pretty much only while the item was on air, even some of the hosts obvious hard sellers or worse, subtle "actors" who were just hard sell in disguise!

But way more than QVC and other retailers have changed, I've changed.  Twenty years, give or take 5, I was interested in clothes and jewelry and kitchen gadgets and even a bit of decor.  Now?  Compared to what I used to spend, I'd say I'm down 95% at least -  and that's not just QVC but everywhere I shop in those categories.  I definitely don't need as much as I was buying, but I also truly don't even want much!

One example -  for years and years, I bought something Honora at least twice a year and often more often.  Then just last week I watched Joel and Antonella do a very nice show -  I didn't think they were hard sell,  they had a mix of new and classic -  and the only thing I was tempted to do was sort through my own Honora and decide what I would wear during the next month.

Re: What has happened.?

After watching nearly around the clock since April 1990 when the Q took over on the channel that CVN had been on, I now don't even turn it on anymore.

Don West was on Shop at Home and he yelled nonstop the full 4 or 5 hours he was on. I watched him once. Rick sounds like he took lessons from him.

None of the products are that exciting. Several hours in a row of shoes, or purses, or cosmetics, or clothing that all looks the same, or the newest electronics gadget that too many were put in the warehouse - boring. And all overpriced.

You can tell there is newer management, the prices went up to not worth it. Nothing new, nothing exciting just the same old tired products. High shipping costs, long waits for something to either get shipped to me or to be received when I ship it back.

A few years back I ended up ordering 5 all in one stereo components that had a CD, a radio, a phonograph, a cassette not one of them worked. I kept trying until I finally gave up. One even had the former customer's return ticket in it because the phonograph needle was missing.

It's just not the same. I know, Progress. Nope, it's not progress when it gets worse, it's only change and not for the better. Now there are 5 programming things to attempt to watch and they all have the same things. That won't pay. Years ago the QVC Fashion Channel proved that, but lets try again.

I'm back to the buy local idea. I know, parking lots, but the crowds of people are now at their computers shopping Amazon.

I go get my holiday shopping done early and I learned years ago that Black Friday is a day to stay home. No door busters for me. I don't care if they have the largest TV ever made for $100.00, I won't be there. I worked retail, I'm done with that stuff, too. I shop when the sane customers are there. Getting beat up for a deal isn't my idea of a good morning.

I check in on the Lunchtime Specials and the Primetime ones, but there's been nothing there either. I miss QVC, what has taken it's place just isn't any good.

@shopperqvcWriting without paragraph breaks is like talking without stopping for a breath -  unless you're writing in German!

I like QVC for Wen's great deals.  Susan Graver's liquid knit looks like new for years, so I occasionally buy that.  I like the Earth shoes and used to like Clarks.  Their Aran Craft sweaters are nice, though I got a great deal on one of those sweaters at an Irish site recently.  I got the Royal Palace TSV.  I love their rugs.  PTR has nice skin care.  I'm sure I'm leaving some out, but the point is that I watch for specific products rather than keeping it on in the background these days like I used to.  Their prices aren't as good as what you find at the mall speaking generally, but they do have amazing deals on Wen and have some products that are outstanding.

Most of my watching is just a driveby during the ads on whatever show I have on. Unless something catches my interest, then I'll stay for a little while. My watching is down about 99% from the early days. Too much screeching and hyperness and ungodly long presentations and abrasiveness. Not all of them, there are still a few pleasant professionals who are a pleasure to watch and listen to but for the most part it's just hard to take for any length of time.

She's probably using a device that won't allow her to make paragraphs ... or maybe she doesn't know how to ...

I'd cut her some slack ... or just move on.

I think hosts now think they are the 'stars'of their shows.  Hosts should be moved around.  We do not get enough information on the products - just lots of silly incidental talk.

A few hosts do a really good job but only a few the others are the 'star' of the show.  Rushing around, leaping in and out of clothes, talking, giggling just a mess.

Shipping and returning shipping costs are outrageous. Amount of time taken to get refunds/exchanges not good.

Website is a mess - every 'improvement' is a disaster.

For a major company there seems to be a lot that needs to be re-worked.  Does not seem to me there is really anyone hands-on - to me all exces - and I bet there are a lot if them - are sitting in board rooms taking home their pay checks while no-one really being in control.   Having worked in big corporations I know how this goes.

Q has definitely changed and sorry to say not all for the good. Just my thoughts.
