What does QVC stand for to you?

I apologize in advance for the lenght of this comment, but I am ANGRY.  Earlier in the year I was on a self-imposed "break" from QVC because of the quality/prices and fact that all the designs are more or less the same.

Unfortunately, I broke that ban.  Within the past month, I ordered 5 items (3 on Creed Silver Day).  I have received 3 of them.....all of them were in some way damaged when I recieved them.

QUALITY - The first item was an Isaac sweater with a small hole in the arm.  The second item was a D&C Henley Tunic that was missing a button.  That the tunic was hi-lo and that was nowhere in the desription of the item on line is another issue.  The final item I received was a pair of marcasite and pink jasper earrings.  The stone on one of the earrings is completely clouded and scratched....almost looks cracked.  Clearly there is no quality control at QVC anymore.  None of these items were as is, and they should not have been sent out..

I am awaiting two bracelets that I ordered on Silver Day intending to give as Christmas gifts.....too late to cancel the order....if they arrive damaged I will lose it.

VALUE - Not really any value any more.  Even the lunchtime specials are out of my price range.  I noticed they now have a new line that shows a demin looking blouse for $129.  If I am spending $129 on a blouse it isn't going to look like something I would wear to the grocery store.

Convenience - Not really so convenient anymore since I have to spend so much time going to the post office to return the damaged items that they sent me.

Today I logged in and cancelled my only Auto Delivery, a Peter Thomas Roth from last year.  I am not done with QVC.

So, to get back to my topic....what does QVC stand for?  For me it is:

Quickly

Vanishing

Customer

What does it stand for for you?

@Travone I don’t know if that is strictly a Q problem. It is the quality of available merchandise coming in from China that is causing a lot of dissapointment for shoppers.I don’t think shipping out damaged items will end because what company has the time to inspect every piece.I will say that you had a really dissapointimg run of it.I think that is a reason to shop in stores where you can inspect and decide for yourself what meets your needs and requirements.

@Travone.  Sorry that happened to you and I certainly understand your frustration!  If it makes it any easier, just to let you know, USPS will pick up your delivery during the normal time your mail is dropped off.  You can scheduled a pick-up at usps.com.

Most people hate going to the post office and I've found this service helpful.

Well, I hate that you had that trouble. Did you call customer service, or at least send the things back for a refund. I know shipping will probalby be deducted, but if maybe not, since at least some of these items were damaged- missing button.

Anyhow, QVC I think has grown quite a bit since I first started watching. I understand your frustration and I honestly wonder if it is hard for them to get enough quality help in the quality control dept.

I say that, because where I live I hear from relatives in Human Resources and two folks managerial positions that it is very hard to find qualified people, good help and the list goes on.

I am really hoping you love find you love the bracelets when they arrive.

Sorry for your troubles. I still shop qvc, just not as much. I have found out I really need to try clothing on, it doesn't matter where it comes from, and as far as everything else, I simply need to scale back or make a few goodwill runs.

I still buy a LOT and so far I haven't had too many issues considering how much I do buy.

Sorry to hear that things haven't been working out well for you.

Quit Viewing Constantly.  I check what's been on recently.  If the item looks interesting, I check it out.  If it is something I want, can't find elsewhere or is cheaper than what I can find elsewhere, I may buy.

I do not watch QVC for entertainment or for company.  I no longer know most of the hosts.  And since I order very little, have had no problems with shipping or quality.  And I much prefer to shop locally at Macy's, Marshalls, etc.

Re: What does QVC stand for to you?

Can't argue with that, I'm the same way.

I've also had similar experiences with the other "TV shopping channels"

I don't like buying a necklace to find it tossed in a plastic zip bag, but that's the world today, unless you are buying from a high end designer.

I probably send back about half of what I buy, from all the retailers - QVC HSN Evine, etc.

I don't buy much, but I buy carefully.   so when I receive something broken and damaged I have no choice to send it back and I request a refund.

Then there's the issue of shipping.   Delivery to my home, on a scale of 1 to 10, I give it a 7.  One their best day.   And that's USPS or UPS.

I live in a large metro area, I can find anything I need at retail and much cheaper.   I've purchased a few nice pieces by Robert Lee Morris at TJ Maxx.   I recently purchased a necklace with matching earrings for less than $40 - retail would be over $100.   I buy my clothes at Macy's on sale.

I still wear some of the pieces I purchased from Jane's Sunday morning silver shows. My favorite is the 100 inch sterling bead necklace.  It's so versatile and I get compliments every time I wear it.

I don't buy as much as many do from QVC, but I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.  I can't remember the last time I had to return anything.  I'm usually quite pleased with what I get.  Sorry the OP is having such awful issues.

Re: What does QVC stand for to you?

I also have bought alot from QVC over the years, but I've also wise up. Some Vendors item's are worth shipping so I don't buy them. Others I love and will continue.  I think we need to realise also that it's the convenience of never having to leave our homes to go shopping and having worked in retail for over 20 years it a blessing.
